4 Reasons Why Diets Don't Work

|

If you've been on diets before you'll know that although they do produce results in the short term, very few diets will allow you to maintain that weight loss.

Worse than that the majority of dieters end up bigger than they were when they first started.

Frustrating isn't it?

So Why Don't Diets Work?

1. They Are Just Too Hard - Most diets involve a significant change to our eating habits that often causes stress, especially if it goes against how other people around us eat.

2. They Rely On Will Power - When you first start a diet your motivation for the task in hand is often very high because you are desperate and maybe excited for change. This initial high can quickly wane especially with the pressures of everyday life.

3. Diets Make You Feel Deprived - Research has shown that no matter what size you are diets make you crave for the foods you are trying to avoid and make you feel deprived because you can't eat what you want to.

4. Diets Only Work For As Long As You're On Them - Diets are boring! Most people get pretty fed up with the strict eating plans. When you stop dieting you tend to eat the food you had been deprived of, and because of that you tend to eat more of them and end up being bigger than when you started.

You are probably familiar with a couple, if not all of these feelings associated with diets. Dieting is a slippery slope and if you trip up along the way, you are certain to be back where you started if not worse off.
